Find the Right Knee Brace for Your Support Needs
Knee supports range from flexible compression sleeves to rigid ligament and osteoarthritis braces. The most suitable option depends on whether you need compression, kneecap support, greater stability, controlled movement or unloading for osteoarthritis.
Compression and targeted patella support
Knee sleeves provide compression and light support for everyday activity. Bands and straps apply targeted pressure around the patellar tendon, while a patellofemoral brace such as the Tru-Pull Lite uses a buttress system to support kneecap tracking.
Ligament, range-of-motion and osteoarthritis bracing
Hinged braces add structured support for ligament injuries. The Playmaker II X-ROM also allows range-of-motion settings to be adjusted during rehabilitation. Rigid products such as the FullForce ACL and Armor ACL are specialist ligament braces, while the Roam OA is an unloader brace for unicompartmental osteoarthritis. Custom braces such as the Defiance Pro require individual measurements and a fitting process.
Measure for the right fit
Knee-brace sizing may use measurements above, below or around the kneecap, and several products require a left or right selection. Follow the size chart for the exact model. If the knee locks, gives way, cannot take weight, is badly swollen or has changed shape, arrange medical assessment before choosing a brace.
